Cameron Ballard

Cameron Ballard is a data scientist working to understand and reduce the spread of problematic content online. Cameron spent years as an academic researcher, with work ranging from public health disinformation to tracking the spread of QAnon online. For their PhD research fellowship, they studied and published on how mis- and disinformation content is monetized on YouTube. They are also the co-founder of Raditube, a tool that helps journalists, rights advocates, and democracy defenders understand harmful content and actors on YouTube, the world's second largest website. Cameron holds a Master's of computer science from NYU Tandon's Center for Cybersecurity, and Bachelor's from NYU Shanghai.
