Guy Berger

Guy Berger is Professor Emeritus, Rhodes University, South Africa and a Distinguished Fellow at the think tank Research ICT Africa. He spent 11 years in Paris as a senior UNESCO director, overseeing the organization's work in freedom of expression, safety of journalists, media development and digital governance. Research contributions include UNESCO policy briefs "Platform problems and regulatory solutions: findings from a comprehensive review of existing studies and investigations" and “Data sharing to foster information as a public good. The case of media viability and safety of journalists in the digital ecosystem.”
