Ira Anwar

Ira Anwar is a PhD candidate at the University of Michigan. Her policy and ethnographic research focuses on the political formations of AI infrastructures, specifically the role of the state in the rapid development of data centers across the local to the geopolitical terrain, as well as grassroots resistance against data centers. Ira has also worked extensively with labor movements in India. Her previous research has examined the algorithmic conditioning of labor precarity in the gig economy with a focus on third world labor markets.
