Karen Rebelo

Karen Rebelo is a Mumbai-based journalist whose work focusses on algorithmic accountability. She previously helped set up one of India's earliest fact-checking newsrooms and introduced editorial processes that have been adopted by a growing act-checking community in the country. She has reported on tech facilitated harm on an individual and societal level. Karen is also a debunking and media literacy trainer. She was Journalist Fellow at the Reuters Institute for the Study of Journalism, Oxford in 2025.
