Mandy Lau

Mandy Lau is a PhD candidate in Linguistics and Applied Linguistics at York University in Toronto, Canada. She is broadly interested in language policy and language ideology within digital culture. Her dissertation explores the regulation of harmful speech on social media. As a former public-school teacher, vice-principal, and English as a Second Language consultant, Mandy is particularly interested in exploring the impacts of language technologies on young learners.
