Marc Pfeiffer

Marc Pfeiffer is Assistant Director of the Bloustein Local Government Research Center at the Rutgers Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy, where he supports local government officials and the public through policy research, consulting, support of local government professional organizations, and public service. At Rutgers-Newark, he coordinates the curriculum for the state’s Certified Public Manager Program, an in-service management development program for mid-level government managers. For the Rutgers Center for Government Services, he developed and edited two training manuals and collateral reference material for the Center’s training programs of local government purchasing agents. Marc served the New Jersey Division of Local Government Services in various capacities for 26 years. He was Deputy Director from 1998 until 2012, and occasionally as Acting Director. Prior to joining the Division in 1986, he served as a municipal administrator for 10 years in several New Jersey municipalities. He served as an Adjunct Professor in the Master of Public Administration program at Kean University for 18 years. He holds an MPA from New York University and a B.S. in Urban Affairs from American University.
