Megan Shahi

Megan Shahi is the Director of Technology Policy at the Center for American Progress and a Spring 2026 Tech & Public Policy Visiting Fellow at the Georgetown McCourt School of Public Policy. Her work focuses on artificial intelligence governance, platform accountability, and the societal impacts of emerging technologies, with an emphasis on values-based regulatory frameworks that balance innovation, safety, and democratic integrity. She previously held policy roles at Meta and X (formerly Twitter) and worked in the Obama Administration.
