Michelle De Mooy

Michelle De Mooy is a leader in global technology policy, with a focus on AI policy and governance, including research on emerging risks and ethical innovation. She has over 15+ years of senior leadership experience designing, building and scaling multi-million dollar programs and portfolios across philanthropy, academic institutions, and mission-driven organizations. Michelle is currently principal of de/Mooy Consulting, where she advises organizations on translating AI opportunities and risks into actionable institutional strategy. Most recently, she was the inaugural director of Tech & Public Policy at Georgetown University, where she built and launched impactful programs to advance tech in the public interest, including an AI Policy Lab. Before that, she led cutting-edge tech and policy projects for organizations like Omidyar Network, Conde Nast, and the Local Media Consortium. Michelle was also director of the privacy and data project at the Center of Democracy & Technology.
