Nusrat Farooq
Nusrat Farooq is an international security, and trust & safety expert. Currently she’s advancing her expertise as a doctoral candidate at University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she also contributes as a Teaching Assistant for a course on Terrorism. Farooq previously worked with Global Internet Forum to Counterterrorism, leading the evolution of its international Incident Response Protocol and responding to online aspects of violent attacks across 40+ countries collaborating with 30+ technology companies and 150+ key global stakeholders. Prior to that, she worked at the World Bank analyzing international development in 17+ African countries; at Columbia Law School researching Track-2 diplomacy and conflict resolution concerning India, Pakistan and China; and at Saltzman Institute of War and Peace Studies investigating the impacts of deplatforming non-state actors on 13+ social media platforms. She has earned a Master of Public Administration with summa cum laude from School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, and a Bachelor of Engineering with summa cum laude from University of Kashmir. She is proficient in five languages--English, Arabic, Kashmiri, Hindi and Urdu.
