Shawn Murinko
Shawn is a civil rights attorney with cerebral palsy who uses a power wheelchair. He was twice appointed by Washington governors to the Washington State Human Rights Commission, which enforces the state’s civil rights law. His work focuses on disability justice and dismantling structural barriers affecting marginalized communities. A frequent writer and speaker, he advances equity through policy and public advocacy. Shawn lives in Olympia, Washington with his wife of nearly 30 years and their two daughters.
